The dynamic English cellist Philip Daish-Handy has entertained audiences across the world. Known for his musicianship and projection, Philip came to prominence after winning the prestigious Music at Beaulieu Competition in 2005. This led to solo performances at the Wigmore Hall; Steinway Hall; Adrian Boult Hall; Coda Hall; and Bridgewater Hall. Other notable competition successes include the coveted Symphony Hall Recital Prize.
As a solo artist, Philip has played all the major cello concertos with orchestras throughout the UK. He has also recorded numerous works for cello to critical acclaim, including Sonatas by Bridge, Delius,Barber, Rachmaninov and Ireland, the Elgar Cello Concerto with Questa Musica and two cello encore albums with his accompanist Martin Penrose. Philip regularly performs as a soloist on the for the Cunard Line and is principal-cellist of Questa Musica.
The course is for young musicians aged 12-18 during the time of the course, and at least grade 6 standard.
